Morpeth Market Bag

A modern take on a grocery shopping bag, this is a mesh market tote bag, with a bucket bottom worked in garter st short rows, and with a net lace stitch body.

Skills level: Intermediate
You’ll need to be able to work the short row technique , work in lace st and be able to make an I-cord.

Dimensions as knit ONE size
Base width: 23cm
Height to handles: 35cm
Handles height (note can be easily adapted to be longer or shorter): 60cm total 30cm as worn

Tools & Materials:
BareFaced Organic Cotton Aran Chainette (Made in Italy ) 4 x 50gms ( 428/488yds)
We used our Silver Grey melange colour
4mm straight needles, and 5mm circular needles ( 40-60cm length)
Stitch markers and holders

Tension: in Garter st using 4mm needles 18 sts x 22 rows to 10cm x 10cm
